Crock Pot Candy

This recipe was handed down to me through 2 friends. It is amazing and makes a lot. When I made it, I thought it said it made around 90 pieces of candy. My daughter reread the recipe and saw that it made 200 pieces. Well, we ended up with 187. Some of Katie's were larger than mine.
You can experiment with the type of chocolate. Milk chocolate is just as good as the semi-sweet. Enjoy!

16 oz jar unsalted dry roasted peanuts

16 oz jar salted dry roasted peanuts

1 bar of German Chocolate (green box)

1/2 bag of peanut butter chips

12 oz bag Semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 1/2 packages vanilla bark (white chocolate almond bark)

Layer ingredients in crock pot in order listed. I broke the big pieces of chocolate up to fit better. Cook on LOW for 2 hours. Mine took 2 1/2 hours. Do NOT lift lid. Stir well. Spoon onto wax paper. Size is up to you. I used teaspoons. I sit my wax paper on t-towels so the wax doesn't melt onto my table or counter.

Enjoy

Pinterest thumbs up! Chocolate chip cookies

Hi to all of you that love to pin on Pinterest! I was thinking about my Pinterest boards today and decided that I need to start making some of these recipes or projects that I pinned. And in doing so, I will pass along my opinion of the recipe or project that I did.

Tonight I made the best chocolate chip cookie that I have ever had. And I make a lot of cookies in this house.

Thank you to Kelsey for such a great cookie!

Cherry Casserole

This recipe was handed down from my mom~I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Crust
3 cups Graham Cracker Crumbs
6 Tbsp. sugar
2/3 cup melted butter or margarine
**see note**

Combine all ingredients well and line a 9X13" pan. Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes. Watch carefully, it burns easily. Allow crust to cool while you are making the filling

Filling
1 8oz brick of cream cheese, light okay-do not use fat free (it turns to liquid)
1/3 cup lemon juice
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk

Topping
1 can Cherry Pie filling **you can use strawberry too~

Mix all ingredients well. Spoon over crust. Chill. Top with cherry pie filling. Chill until ready to serve.

**Instead of a crust, you could make these individually. Place 1 Nilla Wafer in a paper cupcake liner and fill with cream cheese mixture, then top with cherries or strawberries. I do this method when I take these to an event.

1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup butter or margarine
**4 tsp. pumpkin pie spice if you use the pumpkin that has none in it

Gram's Peanut Butter Fudge

This recipe has a lot of humor behind it. My grandfather (bless his soul) had to watch the clock and time the boil every time it was made. If it wasn't "right" it was his fault. He must have miscalculated the boil. Everyone in the family knows how to time the fudge!!! One of those memories that just sticks with you and you pass along to the next generation.

2 Lb. 10X sugar (powdered)

1 cup carnation milk

18 oz creamy peanut butter

7-8oz marshmallow cream

1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

Bring sugar and milk to a boil for 3 1/2 minutes. Remove from heat and quickly add remaining ingredients. Pour into a 9x13" buttered dish. Let cool. Serve

Sugar Cookies

This is my all time favorite for cut-out cookies. I usually make 2 batches and freeze the dough. I make one batch about a week before Christmas and the other batch the kids do Christmas Eve. These are Santa's cookies. Although the kids do not believe, they play along to make me happy!

1 c. butter or margarine, softened

3/4 c. sugar

1 egg

1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

3 1/2 c. flour (more or less depending on moisture)

1 tsp. baking powder

1/4 tsp. salt

Cream butter, sugar and egg. Add vanilla, baking powder and salt. Gradually add flour. Mix well. I chill mine before using and just take out what I need for a couple of cookie sheets at a time. If you work with the butter too much, it becomes soft and then sticks to the cookie cutters. Cut out shapes, decorate and bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes.
