Black-eyed Susan's are thriving in this heat

My black-eyed Susan's are thriving with all the heat we have had here. I've also noticed bee babies buzzing around them. These I did not start from scratch, and I will be adding more to areas that I don't feel like weeding.

My first Gladiolus

I've never had much luck with starting flowers from seeds or bulbs. I thought I'd give it one more try. I saw Gladiolus bulbs on sale and though it couldn't hurt to give them a try. And for once, it worked for me. Imagine my surprise when I saw the first shoots coming out of the ground. Now I officially have my first flower. And to top it off, it's my favorite color.

Next I'm hoping my Peony's bud and flower.
